Overview
Fortuna Bowl has been a tradition at CBU for over 30 years and is a fun, competitive event that brings communities together during the university’s Parent/Family weekend. Campus Recreation desired a fresh brand identity that would embody the competitive nature of this flag football championship game while also representing unity, family, tradition, and passion.
Wordmark
I achieved this design by incorporating a football, clearly symbolizing the sport in focus. The logo’s overall shape is a tribute to Lance, the mascot of CBU, reflecting the values of fellowship, love, and legacy. Additionally, the logo adheres to CBU’s brand guidelines, utilizing the university’s signature blue and gold to strengthen the connection between Fortuna Bowl and CBU, ensuring it is recognized as an official university event.
Results
The new Fortuna Bowl logo debuted on various collateral during the week leading up to Fortuna Bowl and Parent and Family Weekend to get students, families, and friends excited about what was to come at the event. It was also used in Truss Banners at the event and digital signage as individuals walked into the event. This logo also acted as the football centerfield logo during the intramural championship games. This new identity received positive feedback and played a crucial role in elevating the status of Campus Recreation within both students’ and the publics’ eyes.
