Batman Forever

About

Task

Develop a cohesive advertising campaign for Comic-Con that captures the essence of the 1990s film Batman Forever while paying tribute to traditional Batman comics.

Concept

The objective was to create three unique posters: one traditional, one collage-based, and one generated with AI. All designs were to be centered around a '90s movie to be featured at Comic-Con. After exploring different options, I chose Batman Forever due to its vivid themes, especially the Riddler’s pursuit of revenge. This emotional core gave me a strong visual and narrative direction to build on.

I focused heavily on a black and green color palette to emphasize the contrast between Batman and the Riddler, underscoring the broader battle between good and evil. Across all three posters, I maintained consistency through visual motifs like green smoke and a key line of dialogue: “You’re supposed to understand. I’ll make you understand”, marking the Riddler’s descent into villainy.

The traditional movie poster features Batman, Robin, his love interest, Two-Face, the Riddler, and the Batmobile. I used color to differentiate alignment: heroes in black, villains in green.

The collage poster incorporates stills from pivotal scenes, arranged within the shape of Batman’s mask. Torn typography and layered textures give it a handmade, scrapbook aesthetic, echoing the chaotic mind of the Riddler.

For the AI-generated poster, I recreated the Riddler’s lair from the film’s climactic scenes, including the ominous floor design and the cages holding Batman’s allies. Every detail, from lighting to composition, was prompted to reflect the twisted psychology of the Riddler and the atmosphere of his world.
